See and hear this custom, V12 Lamborghini powered bike

It’s hard to tame insanity, and after the Chevrolet V8 powered Boss Hoss motorcycle, it was only a matter of time before somebody put a V12 engine into a bike. At a recent event called Caffeine and Octane, which takes place once a month in Alpharetta, Georgia, this monstrous, V12 Lamborghini  powered bike was seen. More details are scarce, but we do know how it sounds. It’s also fully-functional, besides having a really tough time justifying its existence.

The cynosure of all eyes at the event, the bike looks massive, and unusually long, because of its preposterous V12 heart- which meant that the handlebars and the minimalist instrument console had to be shifted aft, almost in the center of the behemoth. The owner (apparently) took a moment and cranked it up, and rest assured, it sounds unmistakably exotic and so V12.

Mahindra XUV 500 facelift; launch soon

For 2015, Mahindra will continue to be bullish with its best-selling XUV 500 brand, with the launch of a face-lifted model, along with the introduction of an automatic transmission, with a diesel-hybrid variant to follow thereafter. As for the face-lift, these clearer spy shots point out to the following changes:
  • New front fascia including re-worked toothy grille, re-sculpted bonnet and a tweaked bumper.
  • Newly designed 5-spoke alloy wheels.
  • Slightly revised tail gate design.
  • Mildly altered dashboard design.

Mechanically, the XUV 500 facelift will continue to be powered by a the same 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine outputting a maximum power of 140 bhp @ 3750 rpm and a peak torque of 330 Nm between 1600 and 2800 rpm. Mated to a 6 speed manual gearbox, the XUV500 face-lift will continue with the current 2WD and 4WD options. The face-lift might add a slight tune to to drive-train for better performance and fuel economy, apart from the introduction of an automatic transmission*. Also, the auto gearbox would reportedly be available only with the top-end W8 4WD variant.
*The automatic transmission will reportedly be the same Aisin 6-speed unit that debuted with the recently launched SsangYong Tivoli compact SUV.

Hyundai Elite i20 Cross launch in April; ix25 launch around Diwali

Based on the Elite i20, the India specific (for now) Crossover will feature a slightly raised ride height, body cladding, new alloy wheels & tires and a pair of roof rails, apart from minor changes in interior trim. Supposedly scheduled for a next month unveiling, the upcoming pseudo-crossover will take on others of its ilk, including Fiat Avventura, Toyota Etios Cross, VW Cross Polo and the upcoming Maruti SX4 S-Cross. Powering the vehicle could be the same engine options – 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol and 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, both sourced from the Elite i20.

As for the compact SUV, expect the GCi to get the 83PS 1.2 liter petrol and 90PS 1.4 liter diesel engines, offered in the i20 as well (unconfirmed). The petrol engine will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the diesel will get a 6-speed manual. The top end variant of the car could feature a panoramic sunroof, LED DRLs, a touchscreen multimedia system, cruise control, Keyless Go, parking camera and a whole host of safety features.

Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum: Home to the best motorcycle collection in the world

Adventure junkies visit places where they can jump off a plane and take a feel of how it feels when you are about to die. The more naughty, pot bellied types are on a constant hunt to find cheap air tickets to Bangkok, while visiting Amsterdam or the Sin City is on their bucket list. Women dream of spending their entire life shopping at the Portobello Street, closer home, they might even spend an entire day at Fashion Street, hunting for a hair-clip which made an appearance in their dream.

Some travel across the globe to find their gods, restore their faith and worship the almighty. For some, motorcycling is a religion and no other god is bigger than the god of speed, a god who only accepts his offerings in the form of a fast travelling machine. These saints can meditate for centuries on the saddle, making saddle sore appear like a joke. What happens if such species are let loose in an enclosed space, which houses the best and perhaps the largest collection of motorcycles in the world.

The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is home to the world’s best motorcycle collection and has over 1200 vintage and modern motorcycles and racecars in their inventory. They also have the largest collection of Lotus cars as well as other significant makes. There are approximately 600 of the 1200 motorcycles on display at any given time and bikes range from 1902 to current-year production. The collection boasts of bikes from over 20 countries representing 200 different manufacturers and bikes have been purchased from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden, but also as close as down the street. The museum displays common street bikes as well as rare one-off Gran Prix race machinery. The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is located at the 830 acre Barber Motorsports Park, which also includes a world class 2.38 mile racetrack.

All-New Ford GT Supercar Debuts in Detroit

It’s hard to believe that we’re staring at an all-new, 600-plus-hp Ford GT. Not only because we thought a new Guns N’ Roses album would come out before we’d see a second coming of the GT, but also because we never thought a Ford GT could look so swoopy, so exotic, and so sexy without losing its signature, “See what America can do, Ferrari?” vibe.

Got carbon fiber?

“If you could use innovation to build the ultimate Ford Performance vehicle, what would it be?” asks Ford CEO Mark Fields. The all-new Ford GT, which Fields says goes into production next year, is more exotic than we could’ve expected, but the styling isn’t so out-there Italian that the GT isn’t recognizable as America’s supercar sweetheart.
The carbon-fiber tub mates with aluminum front and rear subframes, all wrapped in carbon-fiber body panels. From straight on, the car has a bit of a flower petal shape, with a narrow nose that blossoms out at the wide windshield and roof before slimming back down at the engine cover. The Ford GT is über wide and über low, its roofline sitting about four feet off the pavement. It has active aerodynamics and deep gouges in its sides that help funnel air, à la Ferrari F12berlinetta. Massive air vents feed the front-mounted radiators, and the dual center-exit exhaust looks fantastic between the rear LED circle taillights.

Upcoming Bentley luxury SUV named Bentayga, teaser released

Luxury car maker Bentley has officially revealed the name of its SUV that would be revealed later this year. This upcoming luxury SUV will be called as Bentley Bentayga. This SUV will be able to introduce Bentley’s modern British luxury to limitless destinations with an impressive combination of on and off road performance.

The natural world, along with the company’s founder, inspired its name. Crowning the Northern Hemisphere, to the north of Bentley’s birthplace in England, is the dramatic beauty of the Taiga, the world’s largest transcontinental snowforest. To the south, the rugged peak of the Roque Bentayga in the subtropical Canary Islands draws attention from all directions and a challenging climb rewards with spectacular panoramic views of a rich and diverse landscape.
Speaking about the Bentayga, Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors, said, “Bentayga is a name that reflects what we know our SUV will do better than any other car in the world – combine the best automotive luxury with outstanding performance to take the Bentley experience to new environments.”
The new Bentley Bentayga will be revealed later in 2015, and go on sale in 2016.
